CLINTON, SC —The #15 Lady Canes women's basketball team hit the road for an afternoon nonconference game at Clinton Junior College on Sunday, where the home side took the game 79-66. The loss drops the Canes overall record to 9-4.

Three players accounted for most of the LC points with Gena Penick (Amherst, VA/Liberty Christian HS) leading the way at 18 points. The frosh center also swiped eight rebounds. Sycoya Dorsey (Richmond, VA/Meadowbrook HS) and Kiara Rawls (Killeen, TX/Shoemaker HS) both finished just behind Penick as they each helped out with 16 points, with Dorsey  just missing a double-double as she also pulled down nine rebounds. Frosh forward, Zana Tatum (Mooresville, NC/Mooresville HS) had a great night on the glass as she pulled down a team high 12 boards.

The Lady Canes will look to improve on their 2-2 conference record later this week as they play a pair of road Region X games, the first on Thursday when they travel to Lenoir CC. Opening tip is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
