LOUISBURG, NC – The #14 Louisburg College women's basketball team opened up the season with a 72-56 win over Frederick CC (Frederick, MD), Friday night. The win also opens up the Coca Cola Classic, which is a four team tournament played in the Taylor Center.

Sophomore guard, Courtney Raiford (Greenwood, SC/Greenwood HS) led the way on offense as she scored 17 total points. Frosh Center, Kennethea Galloway (Reidsville, NC/Reidsville HS) picked up the Canes first double-double of the 2013-14 season as she dropped 12 points and swiped 14 boards in the team's first defense of their 2013 national title.

First year head coach Shay Hayes was pleased with her team's effort especially on the glass where they out-rebounded the Cougars 55-39.

The Lady Canes will return to Taylor Center tomorrow afternoon as they host College of Central Florida at 2:00 pm.
